Kinja'd!!!

I’m heading from Madison down to the Chicago suburbs today to trade my 135is in on a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . I was looking for the second key to the BMW this morning and couldn’t find it anywhere! This was not good!

We have a little extra key spot in our filling cabinet where normally I keep the extra key. It wasn’t there. I looked everywhere, and couldn’t find it. I was getting rather anxious and it was stressing out my gf.

But! I had a wild thought!

I stored the car this past winter at my mother-in law’s house, and had stashed the extra key there, on a shelf in her study behind a golf trophy. When I picked up the car last month, I confirmed that the key was behind the golf trophy. But then I put it back behind the trophy. WHAT IF I FORGOT TO ACTUALLY TAKE THE SECOND KEY HOME WITH ME?

I called my mother-in-law, she checked, and she has the key.

I called the Infiniti dealer, and since going to pick up the key on my way to them would be a good hour and a half detour for me, they’re fine with having the key mailed to them.

Phew!

Just don’t do this to it. I’ve seen it in person, and it’s not okay.

Typical BMW owner, talking about how he owns a BMW one last time.

Oh hellllll no. The only stuff I want to do the back of it is have that chrome lip painted body color, maybe shave the INFINITI lettering but keep the Infiniti logo badge, and an exhaust, but not one with silly purple titanium tips.

Badge swap? It is technically a Skyline though, or at least the G35 was.

Hanging your arm out the window doesn't count.

Removing the G37xS badge and the Inifinti lettering? That could look pretty fine. The Infiniti V6's sound quite good to me, even stock. A light mod like new mufflers (I’m not familiar with the exhaust setup on them) or something else very subtle could go a very long way.

I’ll also never stop you from adding a little more ducktail.

It’s not a Skyline. It’s a bubble. A round, big butted bubble.

The Skyline is none of those things.

BTW you probably (definitely?) want to consider getting a CAI. No, not for the alleged power gains and not for being F&F but for the sound. Stock Infiniti intake tubes come with resonator chambers that muffle the sound since it’s a luxury vehicle. A CAI with the VQ engine does not sound obnoxious during daily driving but will let you know it’s there when you open up the throttle. A very fun, simple, kinda cheap mod.

I’ll look at doing mods at some point, including stuff like an intake and exhaust, but I’m not in a rush. One of the reasons I’m getting this car is in pretty happy with it in stock form.

I’d keep the G37xS badge, I just think with that chrome duck tail and INFINITI lettering there’s a bit too much going on with the rear of the car.
